Finding A Support Network of Parents With Special Needs

This will sound a bit whoo whoo – but it works for me. One of the things that helps me get through each day is the belief that an angel is watching over my child and guiding us through our struggles.

Throughout the day, I look for signs of that angel’s presence. It could be a kind word from a stranger, a moment of laughter from my son, or a small victory in his development. These little moments give me hope and comfort, and I cherish them as gifts from above.

Many of these angels come in the form of the support of my fellow special needs parents’ community. Today, one of them asked me how my application for a government document went, as she was helping me the day before. I had forgotten to call the agency; I would have never done it if she hadn’t checked in. I am grateful for her reminder to be compassionate and understanding with myself. She reminded me that I am not alone in this journey.

Finally, I will never forget that my child is a blessing, and I am grateful for the privilege of being his mom. Through the struggles and triumphs, I see his inner strength, courage, and beauty, and I know that he and his friends are a true inspiration.

In conclusion, as a special needs mom, I look for an angel every day, and I find comfort in the belief that they are always with us, guiding us and giving us hope. By keeping this mindset, I can face each day with courage and positivity, knowing that together, with the help of our angels, we can make a difference in our children’s lives.
